Summary
- Aiden's AI features run on Google Gemini models, accessed through Google Cloud. Aiden does not train or host its own large language models (LLMs).
- Client data is not used to train AI models, neither by Aiden nor by Google.
- All Aiden data is stored in the EU. LLM processing currently uses Google's ‘global’ setting, meaning some prompt processing may take place outside the EU/EEA, which is covered by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), so this transfer remains GDPR-compliant under Chapter V of the GDPR. Whenever possible, we move LLM processing to EU regions.
- AI features are enabled per client and can be switched off at any time. Aiden's classic Scripted Mode uses no AI.
- AI answers are grounded in the client's own advice logic and product feed. The AI has no internet access and cannot take actions beyond advising.
Aiden features that use AI
Aiden offers three distinct, separated functionalities that use AI, which are detailed below. All other functionalities, including but not limited to Scripted Mode (the classic, rule-based product finder), do not use AI, LLMs or machine learning.
1. Aiden Co-pilot (back-office)
- What it does: Helps the client's team build product finders. A team member describes what a finder should advise, and the Co-pilot drafts a first version of the questions and answers based on Aiden's best practices. The client reviews and edits the draft before anything goes live.
- Who uses it: The client's own team in the Aiden back-office. Shoppers never interact with the Co-pilot.
- Model / provider: Google Gemini via Google Cloud.
- Data sent to the model: The instructions entered by the client's team, plus Aiden's best-practice instructions. No shopper (end user) personal data.
- Logging: Co-pilot interactions are not stored.
- Training: Not used to train AI models.
2. Conversational mode (shopper-facing)
- What it does: Turns an existing Aiden product finder into a natural-language conversation. Shoppers are still guided through the questions and answer options the client set up in Aiden. The LLM only handles the phrasing. The client controls which questions are asked and which answers are shown.
- What it doesn’t do: Accept free text input, pull context from outside sources (i.e. ‘the internet’).
- Demo: Available here.
- Who uses it: Shoppers on the client's website.
